Cops ID bicyclist hit, killed by SUV along Route 36

Authorities have identified the 55-year-old bicyclist struck and killed by an SUV on Route 36 Saturday night in West Long Branch.
John Martin was hit just after 9 p.m. in the area of Monmouth Road, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Martin, of Long Branch, died of his injuries at an area hospital a short time later. The driver, an 18-year-old Tinton Falls man, stopped at the scene and has not been charged as of Tuesday afternoon.
