    Description

This listing is for a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser convertible "Touring Edition" with the most powerful 2.4L Turbo engine.  This car was converted by Freedom Motors, and has the full "PT Driver" conversion package.  The driver's door and ramp are hydraulically powered, and are controlled by a key fob remote and a switch on the dash when the car is not running.  The "PT Driver" conversion also includes the Freedom Motors single handle under dash hand operated gas and brake.  Also, the lowered floor allows a driver in a normal width wheelchair to back up the ramp and swivel into position.  Some power wheelchairs and scooters will also fit.  The floor has four mounts, and this listing also includes two pairs different style tie-downs.
Freedom Motors is known for being the leading conversion company for developing vehicles for wheelchair drivers.  Their 4-door PT Cruiser conversions were well into production for a few years before Chrysler announced the convertible in 2005.  This convertible required only minor design changes from the 4-door, and benefited from having wider doors.  Freedom Motors saw an opportunity to offer the industry's only convertible ramp conversion, and there hasn't been another convertible since.  I believe that there were less than 50 of these convertibles that were ever converted.
This car has less than 89,000 miles, and is in very good dependable driving condition.  The air conditioning, power top, cruise control, and other power features all function properly.  I recently drove it back from Texas with no problems.  It is a rust free car that has never been through a winter.
Our family purchased this car for our Niece recently.  Due to her personal limitations the car was not appropriate for her, and we are reluctantly selling it to get a vehicle that is more suitable for her needs.  I can assist with delivery if the Buyer pays for travel expenses.
