    Description

2012-9 MAUNA KEA, World's Tallest Mountain + Beneath Oceans – National Geographic Map Poster
The world's tallest mountain at 32,696 feet, most of it underseas, which over time, created the Hawaiian archipelago. The map-side is titled “Beneath the Oceans” and contains a beautiful world map showing land masses as dark, and ocean depths as varying shades of blue as detected primarily as satellite readings. The portion of Earth that is under water contains the most dynamic portions of earth's surface; the deepest canyons, the broadest plains, and the longest mountain ranges. The reverse art-side of this map contains an illustration of both the above-surface and underwater portions of Mauna Kea, with an explanation of the rise and fall of a Hawaiian volcano.
    Map is approximately 31" x 20".
The National Geographic is known for it's fine maps & detailed information.
Supplement to the National Geographic Magazine; magazine is not included.
