    Pennsylvania Air National Guard
    BDU Patch
Authentic patch from the unit.  The 111 FW was one of the original Air National Guard Units created in 1924.  Its operational flying squadron was the 103rd Fighter Squadron. During its existence it flew a multitude of aircraft including the B-26 and B-29 bombers, P-51 and F-84 fighters and most notably the A-10 Warthog.  The unit flew the Warthog from 1989-2010 and participated in Operation Southern Watch (Kuwait) and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.  The 111FW was also involved in a friendly fire incident in the Battle of Nasiriyah, Iraq in March 2003.  The 111th was based out of the Willow Grove Air Reserve Station and has now been converted to the 111th Attack Wing flying Reaper Drones.
