Design:
金地朱観世水
It has bold orange lateral stripes on a gold-flected background
with clear-lacquered, smoked bamboo struts. It is hand painted with find gold swirls inside the orange stripes.
Condition:
It is sturdy and sound with lots of signs of use such as minor fraying and worn edges and a few small stains. See photos for details. It is of fine quality and looks fantastic with a vintage patina - clearly a costly item when it was first purchased. It could best be used

It measures about 23” or 58cm from tip to tip when open and is 13” or about 34cm long when closed.

Note that due to reduced flights, JAPAN POST has suspended Air Parcel service to the USA, Australia and a few other countries (Europe is not effected). It is not known how long this will last but in the meantime, we are using JAPAN POST SURFACE mail which has tracking and insurance but can take about 60 days to the USA.
Alternatively, for an additional charge, YAMATO INTERNATIONAL offers extremely fast door to door service for a flat-rate for their various size boxes. The smallest “60cm” box is to most countries, can hold up to two kg and measures 27 X 19 X 19cm and arrives in about a week.
